Unobstructed lake and mountain views, a short stroll into downtown Grand Lake, a warm firepit on the deck, a relaxing lake view soak in a large 8 person hot tub, wandering moose, curious foxes, fuzzy bears, 40 min to Winter Park, 30 seconds to snowmobile trails, 3 minutes to Grand & Shadow Mtn Lakes, 3 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park. What else could you ask for?!
At the Kneeling Moose Lodge, this is a family neighborhood and we have strict outdoor quiet hours after 10pm. This is a great getaway for families and those looking for quiet and relaxation. No bachelor/bachelorette parties or other events with loud music or late-night outdoor gathering on the outside decks.
Beautiful master bedroom on 2nd floor has a spectacular view, fireplace, sitting area, full desk + extra monitor for remote working and its own large master bathroom with a jet tub and separate shower. Two more bedrooms upstairs, one with a king and another with a queen bed, these can share the 2nd bathroom upstairs. The main level has a generous kitchen with bar stools and dining room, and a very comfortable living room with a smart TV. The living room looks out on an amazing deck with stellar views of the Grand and Shadow Mountain Lakes. The deck is the ultimate outdoor relaxation area outfitted with a propane fire table, and seating for the whole group. There's also a BBQ for grilling.
The lower level has another family room to hang out in with a new smart TV, a game table that features air hockey or it rotates to a pool table. There is also a huge bunk room on the lower level with two queen over queen bunk beds (4 queen beds!) and another full bathroom. Full washer/dryer are on the lower level and available to use during your stay. The lower deck has more space to sit and enjoy the amazing lake views, and an 8 person hot tub. It is the ultimate family weekend getaway!
Important Note: 4WD/AWD or FWD w/chains are recommended during winter months due to the steep hill to get to house that can become icy! Parking for 3 cars max with extra parking available in public parking in town.

Summary: We had a great family weekend. The property was amazing and the views of Shadow Mountain Reservoir were amazing. The steep hill up to the house was noted in the description, but I think it could've been emphasized more. Good snow tires have gotten me throw a lot of mountain driving in winter, but they were not enough for this hill, and I ended up running my van into the drainage ditch on the side of the hill. While neighbors said this was about the iciest they've seen it in 20 years, that didn't mean that the tow and repairs weren't inconvenient. None of this was the host's fault; in fact while we figured our situation out she was so gracious as to say we could stay another night free of charge. While we didn't stay another night, we did take her up on late checkout as I had to get my van to a shop in Granby to get it assessed. Despite the car incident, we had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this property. Great proximity to downtown Grand Lake, the city tubing hill, the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Grand Lake Nordic Center and golf course. Even if you have AWD, I would still recommend chains, and even at that we saw a truck with chains barely make it up the hill.

Summary: Fantastic location for annual family retreat (4 couples & 4 kids ages 3-9 yrs). This was our second year to use this property for our family retreat & we love it! It's big enough to accommodate all of us & the location is so convenient for shopping & playing in the park, as well as spending time on the lake. The cabin is nicely furnished & well stocked.

Summary: We are repeat guests at this property and loved our stay. The home is clean, convenient to all that Grand Lake offers, and communication with the host is excellent.
